The sweetest and Pretties Antique Silk Baby Blanket and Pillow I’ve ever come across …
This lovely set looks as though it may never have been used .. it’s in such beautiful condition.
The blanket is exquisite with it detailed embroidery, pretty gathered ricrack flowers, Ribbon Work and stunning Irish lace trimming it. Can you even begin to imagine the hours of work that went in to creating this set and the loving hands that made it.
The top of the blanket Folds over to create a pretty Flap at the top …
The Pillow compliments the blanket perfectly ..
Both are in overall beautiful condition …
*The Blanket backing is thin like silk tends to get with what I want to call striations running through it .. I’ve shown this in the photos.
*The Pillow has a small foxing/discoloration on the Irish Lace Trim which I’ve also shown in the photos.
Pillow has a more thin cotton Gauze backing which is in good condition.
Such a lovely set .. added to a nursery as decor .. , beautiful prop for baby photos, Could be used on a side table in place of a doily or table cover, Would look amazing on an antique crib or bassinet …
They measure:
Blanket: 31 inches long ( when flap is folded) x 27 inches wide
Pillow: 20 x 15 inches
The Irish Lace trim on both pieces is 2 inches wide.
